January 2014

2014 here we come! January was a great month in the Staley house! Tag continued to grow like a week! Jason started his second semester in his DNP program and I am just along for the ride trying to keep up with the two of them!
This is a picture after the first time our little man had Mac & Cheese - it is kind of a blurry picture but if you look close you can see red rash and welts all over him! He had been doing pretty good with dairy in his diet again but this threw him over the top!
Jason and Tag playing with his  Christmas toys!
I love peeking in on this kiddo while he is sleeping! he now sleeps on his belly 99% of the time.
Peeking out of  his crib at me one morning when I walked  in to get him up for the day! Such a fun little dude!
Trying out the new hiking backpack that we got for Christmas. Tag LOVED it!
Hiking Dixie rock.
We live in such a beautiful place and don't always take full advantage of it! Tonight was especially pretty and we loved our quick hike! (Also love that Jason is in short sleeves and I am in a light jacket in January! Leaving this weather will be a hard thing someday if we ever move!)
Between school and work Jason's time is often stretched pretty thin but he always makes time to play with his little buddy~! These two are best friends!!
More Christmas toys!
Why go around it when I could just crawl right through it!?
Family nap time after church one Sunday! Nothing better than family cuddles~!
Tag LOVES this duck! It is a cheap little ducky that his doctor gave him at one of his check ups.  Tag has figured out if he puts it in his mouth he can haul it around with him as he scoots around the house! haha Silly boy!
Truing to walk! Tag can pull himself up to anything and took about 10 steps with his music table this afternoon.  If you look at the carpet you can see the "skid marks" that he left behind. He is going to be mobile before we know it!
Such a cheeser! Ahh that grin kills me!
...and again, how can a mommy's heart not just melt at the crazy toothy grin!
Trying to pull himself up onto the ottoman!
Teething is getting to this kiddo! His top two teeth are trying to hard to come in and Tag just wants to gnaw on anything in sight!
So many milestones this month as he continues to get more and more mobile everyday! Here he is tackling the stairs at just 8.5 months!
Dinner! Tag is a really good eater and  I am grateful that he will eat just about anything that Jason and I eat now.  this night was taco casserole and as you can see he managed just fine!
Helping me with the laundry!
Date night are few and far between and are usually just time together after Tag goes to bed but I am more than happy to spend any time I can with this handsome man! Seriously scored big with winning him!
Sleepy boy!
Jason's birthday! We celebrated with dinner at Texas Roadhouse!
Learning to drink out of a straw!
The big 28!
Tag love to play this piano and is so proud of himself when he does that he has to stop every few notes to clap for himself and make sure everyone else is watching as well!
Getting ready for bed! Tag and I have lots of nights where it is just the two of us at home.  We miss Jason while he is at work but try to make the best of our time and play lots!
Crazy sleeper...just like his mommy!
Breakfast in bed from my handsome husband! When I was pregnant with Tag one of the things that I craved was bagels and cream cheese - there hasn't however been anywhere in St. George (obviously beside the grocery store) to curb such a craving! We had a good laugh when just a few months after Tag was born they announced an Einstein's Bagels was opening here! Well it finally opened and Jason was kind enough to stop and grab me breakfast from there as a surprise. Thanks babe!
Cheerio break!
It was officially time to lower his crib! He is getting too big!
Happy boy with his daddy!
Love him!
Tag loves to  "read" he will sit for 20-30 minutes and flip through his board books!
Stealing daddy's hat is a favorite pass time!
Problem? The neighbors upstairs tub apparently had a leak and it flooded our ceiling with water!
My little shopping partner!
Bath time!
On our way up north! Jason has to be on campus for a few days so Tag and I are going to join in!
This little man gave his mamma (and lets be honest the whole family) quite the scare last night! He was miserable all night long tossing and turning.  I finally took him out onto the couch at 3:30 a.m. at Don and Leisha's to try and watch a show with him and get him to calm down.  By 4:30 he was had fallen asleep and slept until about 8:00 when he woke up (and of course Jason was already at school) throwing up blood, he threw up big blood clots about 7 times from 8:00-9:00. In that time I hurries and got us both dressed, called our doctor who said I needed to rush him to instacare. Called my mom so her and my dad knew what was going on, talked with Jason to let him know as well and rushed off to the Layton instacare with Leisha! The doctor there saw us, they ran some tests, looked over him a bit and through all of that we figured out that he was having another reaction to dairy.  Tag had been back on limited dairy for about a month by now but the doctor said that it was slowly just eating away at his esophagus basically and that looking at his throat he was completely raw! Poor kiddo! Mimi had rushed down from Logan to check in on us and met up with Tag, Leisha and I at the pharmacy after we left the doctors office.  Back off of dairy we go (hopefully not forever!) and an Rx to calm his stomach.  The Doctor said all the blood in his stomach from his raw throat had given him a stomach ache and that is why he was so miserable that night before.  Poor kiddo!!
Playing piano with daddy!
Blanket toss with daddy and uncle Steve.
Happy boy!
Kisses for aunt Jessie's monkey Nana.
Trying on daddy's hat!
Tag's first sucker was a hit!
Driving home after a long trip up north we decided to let Tag take the wheel! (ok not really, but he  sure enjoyed it in the parking lot while we filled the car up with gas!)
honk, honk!
Happy to be back home and with his own toys!! Haha this kid loves books, but especially this one in particular because it has a mirror in it so he can see himself!
Representing my Aggies!
Tag and Haven!
