This year for Spring Break we had a lot of adventures! We have fully enjoyed our time off and are sad to see it go but I guess that all good things must come to an end. Jason and I started our break in California, we haven't seen his Uncle Bob and Aunt Chris for awhile and decided to take advantage of our time off to pay them a visit. Saturday we got up, packed the car, had a little breakfast and hit the road. It is about a 6 hour drive from our house to theirs so the majority of our day was in the car. We pulled into California around 3, stopped at a few stores, grabbed some lunch and then headed to their house.
Bob made pizza for dinner that night and we just kind of hung around the house, it was fun to catch up with them and just get a chance to visit. That night we got a surprise from Karen and our soon to be new brother in law Jake. I knew that they had been talking about getting married but we were surprised to find out that they were engaged! We are really happy for them and are looking forward to the big day this summer!
The following day we went to Universal Studios, Jason had been there before when he was in high school but I hadn't ever been! We had a lot of fun this day exploring the park! The day started with yummy crepes for breakfast.
Trying to take a picture with the globe in the back ground!
The red carpet.
Shrek in 4-D this was our first stop in the park, it was kind of fun!
Jason enjoyed this ride far more than I did. It was a virtual roller coaster and it made me kind of sick.
Since my stomach was a little unsettled we decided that it would be a good time to take the studio back lot tour.
They drove us all around a bunch of different movie sets it was really fun.
We were also shown some of the special effects - Watch out for the Flash Flood!
Wisteria Lane from the Desperate House Wives.
Whooville from How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Bates Motel from Psycho.
Destroyed town from War of the Worlds.
After the tour we headed down to the lower lot, Jason made a stop to see the moon. The view of Warner Brothers Studio from the park.
Waiting to ride The Mummy - One of our favorites!
I didn't take any pictures of the Jurassic Park Ride - We had lots of fun on this one, but unfortunately Jason got a little wet! haha Next we went to see the Special Effects Stage Show.
Harry from Harry and the Henderson's - One of my favorite movies growing up!
We made sure to grab a churro! - Love these!
Last stop of the day was the Water World Show.
A quick picture out front before heading home.
And then we walked through the Universal City Walk.
What a fun day we had!! The weather was a little cool but not to bad and the crowds were really nonexistent which was great! After we finished up at the park we headed back to Pasadena for the evening and went to Dinner with Bob and Chis at a little local Mexican restaurant, the food was really good but the company was even better! Thanks Bob and Chris for dinner we had lots of fun!
